Bamboo Mantra ’25 | 4-Day Workshop
Organized by School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Bamboo Mission

SPA Bhopal, in partnership with MP Bamboo Mission, is hosting Bamboo Mantra ’25, a 4-day hands-on workshop to promote Bamboo the “Green Gold” as a sustainable material for products, furniture, and building design.

The workshop brings together industry experts, faculty, master artisans, and students to co-create innovative bamboo-based designs. Through skill-building sessions and collaborative design, participants will explore bamboo’s potential as an eco-friendly alternative for everyday products and structures.

With Madhya Pradesh’s rich bamboo resources, this initiative highlights opportunities for design innovation, research, and entrepreneurship. Supported by SPA Bhopal’s Bamboo Research & Design Lab, the workshop nurtures creativity while promoting bamboo as a material for sustainable living and future-ready businesses.

Bamboo Mantra '25 workshop is curated to inspire and upscale the skills and knowledge they need to create a more beautiful and sustainable world with bamboo. Our vision is to inspire young minds and artisans to look beyond the conventional practices and innovate with aesthetic expression, material integration, smart technologies and quality of Design standards. The design knowledge must be disseminated to young minds and artisans to explore ecological entrepreneurship and business.

Theme: Electronic Product Design with Bamboo

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of bamboo material, treatment, model making, conventional and modern tools, integration of different materials, and entrepreneurship. This workshop will provide you the tools for innovation and experience to make different scale of design in bamboo at the product level, furniture and structure level.

Registration Details

We are committed to promoting environmentally conscious and sustainable design practices, emphasizing the need for creativity and practical skills to shape the future of design. Our workshop provides a four-day immersive learning experience focused on working with bamboo. Collaborating with experienced artisans and veterans in bamboo craftsmanship will significantly elevate the standard of our designs. The workshop is curated for beginner to medium level of experience with bamboo.

Students, Academicians, and Professionals who are keen to learn about bamboo as an eco-friendly design material must participate in this workshop. The workshop will upscale your knowledge, network, and experience in the domain of bamboo innovation. Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to develop small and large full-scale design solutions across various categories such as products, furniture, and structures.

Best projects within each category will be recognized with awards.

Participation in the workshop "Bamboo Mantra '25" is scheduled on the 20th & 23rd of Seeptember 2025 and requires registration.
The Registration needs to be done in two parts, Filling out the Registration form and Fees payment. The registration category is as follows;

Students from SPA Bhopal: INR 1000
Students from other Institutes: INR 2000
Professionals: INR 4000

All registered participants will get a Certificate of Participation.

This registration amount excludes the food and accommodation costs.
